Hypophthalmus marginatus és una espècie de peix de la família dels hipoftàlmids i de l'ordre dels siluriformes.

Hàbitat

És un peix d'aigua dolça i de clima tropical.[4]

Distribució geogràfica

Es troba a Sud-amèrica: conques dels rius Amazones i Orinoco, i rius principals de la Guaiana Francesa i Surinam.[4][5][6][7][8][9][10][11]
