About the school

Broadford Secondary College offers a range of options of classes for students to complete over their secondary school career. Members of junior school will be enrolled in every available course over their first few years, letting them have an understanding of what they want to study in years 11 and 12. Students in Years 11 and 12 can elect to complete the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) or the Victorian Certificate of Education Vocational Major.[3]

History

The school was founded in 1960 as "Broadford Higher Elementary School" and underwent operations at the Broadford Masonic Hall. In 1962 it was re-established at its current location on Pinniger St as "Broadford High School".[4] Over the mid-1990s during the state's reorganisation of state government high schools, the school was renamed to "Broadford Secondary College".
