Marand County (Persian: شهرستان مرند) is in East Azerbaijan province, Iran. Its capital is the city of Marand.[3]
Demographics
Population
At the time of the 2006 National Census, the county's population was 229,215 in 59,097 households.[4] The following census in 2011 counted 239,209 people in 69,471 households.[5] At the 2016 census, the county's population was 244,971 in 75,711 households.[2]
In 2019, Koshksaray Rural District and the city of Koshksaray were separated from the Central District in the establishment of Koshksaray District.[6] The village of Dizaj Hoseyn Beyg was elevated to the status of a city.[7]
