Melvin Roy Fritzel (July 13, 1906 – May 3, 1985) was an American football and basketball player and coach.[1] He served as the head football coach at William Penn College—now known as William Penn University—in Oskaloosa, Iowa from 1933 to 1934, compiling a record of 4–10–1. He was head basketball coach at his alma mater, Iowa State Teachers College—now known as the University of Northern Iowa, in 1932–33, tallying a mark of 9–4.[2]
