Witness for the Prosecution (sh. Svjedok optužbe) je američki crno-bijeli film snimljen 1957. u režiji Billyja Wildera. Po žanru je sudska drama, te predstavlja adaptaciju istoimenog teatarskog komada Agathe Christie, odnosno njene istoimene priče.

Protagonist, čiji lik tumači Charles Laughton, je Sir Wilfrid Robarts, stari i ugledni londonski advokat koji, usprkos narušenog zdravlja, preuzima naizgled beznadežan posao obrane Leonarda Volea (čiji lik tumači Tyrone Power), siromašnog pronalazača kome na Old Baileyu sude pod optužbom da je svoju staru poznanicu ubio kako bi se dočepao njenog nasljedstva. Radnja prikazuje kako Robartsov posao postaje još teži kada se ispostavi kako Voleova supruga Christine (čiji lik tumači Marlene Dietrich) namjerava svjedočiti protiv muža.

Scenaristi su sadržaj filmske verzije djelomično proširili, odnosno prilagodili glumačkoj ekipi. Kada je naslovnu ulogu dobila Dietrich, to je poslužilo kao prilika da za spektakularnu scenu u kojoj pokazuje svoge noge i izaziva masovnu kavansku tučnjavu; angažman Charlesa Laughtona je, pak, poslužio kao prilika da se angažira i njegova supruga Elsa Lanchester u ulozi Robartsove sitničave bolničarke, a što je bio prvi filmski nastup bračnog para nakon četvrt vijeka. Velike pohvale je dobio i Power, koji je nedugo nakon premijere iznenada umro od srčanog udara, te čiji se nastup, za koga se ispostavilo da je posljednji, često navodi kao najbolji u karijeri. Witness for the Prosecution je dobio pohvale i zbog Wilderove režije, kao i uspješnog kombiniranja žanra trilera, sudske drame i crne komedije, te se smatra jednom od najboljih filmskih ekranizacija djela Agathe Christie. Producenti su, pak, najviše bili zabrinuti zbog iznenadnog obrata na kraju, te film na samom kraju sadrži upozorenje gledateljima da ga ne odaju svojim prijateljima i poznanicima.
