NOX4

NADPH oxidaz 4, insanlarda NOX4 ile kodlanan ve NADPH oksidazların NOX ailesine üye enzim.[1]

Fonksiyon

Oksijen algılama, tüm aerobik organizmalarda homeostaz için gereklidir. Nötrofil granülositlerdeki büyük miktarlarda reaktif oksijen türlerinin (ROS) üretiminden sorumlu olana benzer bir fagosit tipi oksidazın böbrekte, böbrek korteksindeki eritropoietin sentezini düzenleyen bir oksijen sensörü olarak işlev gördüğü ileri sürülmüştür.[1]

Nox4, damar sistemini inflamatuvar strese karşı korur.[2] Amino endoperoksitler tarafından Nox bağımlı reaktif oksijen türü modülasyonu, yüksek Nox4 eksprese eden kanser hücrelerinde apoptozu indükleyebilir.[3]
